Application Use

Hopefully it's all pretty straightforward but in case you don't agree the following pointers might help.

Set Folder

Selects where to look for compatible images. The current file list is displayed bottom right. It refreshes with any new arrivals every few seconds. Please note that on Linux shares can't be accessed directly, mount points should be used instead.

Export

Outputs the current tiled view to a PNG using the underlying stretched image data rather than the potentially interpolated output from a screenshot.

Image Cache

How many images to keep in ram once loaded. This speeds up switching between images but may degrade performance if too many are loaded. It depends on how much ram you have and what other processes you're running, there's no hard and fast rule on what the best setting is.

Debayer

With Auto selected it will normally get the right transform but you can override if necessary.

MTF m

The Midtone Transfer Function m parameter sets the strength of the stretch. Less is more.

Black Pt. %

Sets the weakest % of pixels to black.

Antialias MT and ZT

Set antialiasing on or off for the main tiles (MT) and zoom tiles (ZT).

Zoom Tiles

These are the 2x2 grid on the right hand side between the image settings described above and the file list at the bottom. Moving the cursor over the main tiles on the left will show a magnified view in the zoom tiles. If only one or more than two images are currently selected the top two zoom tiles show the most recent of them. If two images are selected the top two zoom tiles are the most recent image and the bottom two the earlier. The 4x, 8x, 16x dropdown sets the zoom power.

Multiple Selection

Multiple images can be selected using the shift and control keys when clicking a file name. Selected files have their names prefixed by + and the file currently being displayed by >.

Cycle Selection

Allows quick cycling through the currently selected images.

Headers

Shows the FITS headers of the currently displayed image.
