Install on Linux

A.N.N. comes as a zip file to be extracted to a folder of your choice. A license file should be placed in the same folder as the extracted app.

Getting Running

The following assumes you're using Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04 with the Nautilus file manager.

Once you've extracted the download locate the file AnnApp.Desktop. Right click to get Properties and on the Permissions tab tick the Allow Executing File As Program check box. Close the Properties window.

Right click AnnApp.Desktop again then select Run As A Program.

Dependencies

AstroNikNak uses OpenCv libraries for some of its image processing and they might need some dependencies to be installed.

You'll get a message saying so if it's the case. It's quite straightforward and quick to fix, just follow the instructions in ReadMe.txt which you'll find in the Linux Dependencies folder where you extracted to.

Known Issue

If you use Set Folder and directly select a network share you'll either get a warning that it won't work or no warning but the current folder location won't change.

You can mount a share though and then use the mount point as a workaround.

AV Check

The release is always checked before uploading but if you'd like to yourself VirusTotal is a comprehensive online scanner.

You can check the download here. Just click the Choose File button and select AnnAppLin.zip. VT first computes a unique hash of the file and as it will already be in its database from the prerelease tests there'll be no need for an actual upload to see the results.
